Saint Pius students donated loose change and also tinned and dried food, as part of our Harvest Appeal. The loose change was donated to CAFOD for their work with those in need around the world. The tinned and dried food was sent to the St. Wilfrid’s Centre for the homeless and vulnerable in our diocese.
Staff and students remembered all those who had lost their lives in all wars this morning at 11:00am (11th November 2019). On 16th October, instructors from the Yorkshire Ambulance Service came into school to work with all our Y7 students on emergency first aid. Students were taught how to perform CPR using an interactive DVD with practical instruction on inflatable manikins, which are provided free of charge by the British Heart Foundation.
Well done to Annabel Goode who is currently at Our Lady & Saint Joseph’s at Wath. She came to visit Saint Pius back in September when we had our Y6 Open Evening and is the lucky winner of our quiz. We are delighted to announce that Saint Pius X has been awarded the Gold Anti-Bullying Award by Ann Foxley-Johnson (Anti-Bullying Educator) thanks to the hard work of Mrs Ashton, Mrs Yates and our Safe Haven Ambassadors. Mrs Ashton will be attending the Awards Evening on 14th November with some of the Ambassadors. Well done to everyone who has been involved!
