On Wednesday, 13th November, 16 students (2 squads of 8) from year 9 and year 7 attended the Rother World Cup of Nations, organised by Rotherham United Community Sports Trust. Along with 2 teams from Winterhill School and 2 teams from Clifton Academy they competed for the chance to play the final of the tournament at the New York Stadium during the half time interval of Rotherham’s fixture against Accrington on Saturday. Despite both our teams reaching the semi-finals having finished second and fourth in the group stage they were defeated in both games. It was a great effort from all the students who enjoyed the day despite the disappointing result.
