The recent guidance published on August 26th about Face coverings in education states the government is not recommending face coverings are necessary in education settings. Schools have the discretion to require face coverings in indoor communal areas where social distancing cannot be safely managed, if they believe that is right in their particular circumstances. We are confident that measures are in place to minimise the risks from coronavirus. However, students can wear a face covering in indoor communal areas if they so wish.
