News & Events

Last week, some of our Y10 students went on our annual visit to Rome.

The first day was spent with orientation and then seeing some major sites near to the hotel: Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore, The Victor Emmanuel Monument and Piaza de Republica. In addition to this the group went to the Time Elevator which is an interactive tour of the history of Rome.

Tuesday was the main sightseeing day, taking in the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and Piazza Navona. Staff and students walked across the Pont S’Angelo to walk past Castle S’Angelo onwards to the Vatican. They had a guided tour of the Vatican museum, seeing the Sistine Chapel and inside Saint Peter’s Basilica. There was some free time in preparation for the three course meal near the hotel at Restaurant La Familigia.

On the last day students took in the history of Rome in the morning, with a visit to the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and then had a look at the modern side of Rome with some free time for shopping and of course a gelato!

The trip was a big success, pupils behaving well throughout the trip and going home with some very happy memories of Rome and it’s beautiful architecture.
